On august 2002 we were invited to a marriage in a Casablanca. For me it was the first time in Morocco, for my wife’s family an exciting comeback. I started to shoot a film about the “marriage” of Jews to the places they have forced to immigrate to. My last shot for this movie is not yet taken.

Most of the former films made about our origins are coming out of deprivation and discrimination feelings as it was not easy for the Moroccan Alia generation to be accepted in Israel. I have decided to tell the story of Moroccan Jews in a different way.
This is the story of two families – Mostly my wife’s family and mine. My wife’s late father was the rabbi of Agadir. He was the one who berried hundreds while the earthquake on 1960. He was the one who helped the Israeli Mossad to send out almost all his community to Israel, as long as all the Jews in the villages in the region. When it was time for him to leave, he left for France; even though living in Israel is a kind of a holly dream for him. Now he is buried in Israel, but he lived in France for his last years. Being a Moroccan Jew in Israel was never and still not a great pleasure, don’t ask me why, I’m trying to figure this enigma out.
